Put kitchen tools to the test

Kitchen tools can be a little like gym memberships. They’re well worth the investment – if you use them. I’ve been stashing a few kitchen tools that rarely come close to food. In my ongoing commitment to prepare for our upcoming relocation, I’ve cleaned out every drawer and cabinet, and moved rarely used tools back into rotation or into the donation box. A tool that doesn’t take up much space but earns its keep around The Cookery is the Zyliss Smoothglide Peeler. Though I often peel with good results using a basic paring knife, this peeler works well, and it turns out a perfectly peeled kiwi.

If you’re paying for a gym membership, it makes sense to use it or put your cash to work somewhere else. Same goes for kitchen tools. Put them to work.
